The Woman Behind Sophia Tolli
Sophia Apostolides is the creator of Sophia Tolli. She was Head Designer at Maggie Sottero (also a wedding gown designer) for ten years. After her time there, she decided to concentrate on making her own line of wedding dresses. She describes her creations as having two distinct feelings, “soft classic romanticism and traditional bridal drama.” The bride will expect nothing less than exceptionally fit and cut wedding dresses. This, she says, is her distinctive, signature style.
Early Beginnings
Sophia Apostolides took inspiration from her aunt, who was a dressmaker. In her teens, she used to watch her make garments. Her aunt also made most of Sophia’s dresses, and allowed the little girl to handpick the fabric to be used in making them. Sophia has therefore made these experiences her foundations to dressmaking. Although an informal way of learning, watching her aunt make dresses helped shape her aesthetic and style as a designer. Still in her teenage years, she had already started to make custom prom dresses, bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses.
A Time for Explorations
In college where she studied design, Sophia had become more creative in her methods. She produced unique wedding dresses by experimenting on sewing techniques. She also explored various dressmaking processes to make perfectly fitted and constructed wedding dresses. Through these, Sophia has revolutionized wedding dress styles and trends.

They also have retailers in Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Sophia Tolli discourages brides to buy wedding gowns from the Internet. Customers would have to go to authorized retailers in their region to ensure that gowns are well-fitted and authentic. Their website is really a helpful starting point in choosing your wedding dress.
