About Us

The excitement of preparing for that special wedding day can be just as awesome as falling in love. There’s so much fun in deciding on everything from who will give away the bride, who will be the maid of honor and even selecting that all important wedding dress. Then there are details to remember, like color theme, guest journal and even the fashionable wedding jewelry worn by the bridal party. Every bride and groom is unique in their relationship as well as individual personalities that have connected. That’s a day of intense love, passion and hope at its height before a life together begins.

As time has progressed, the many traditions of years passed have either fallen to the wayside or evolved. For example, the “giving away” of the bride was traditionally done by the father of the bride. This custom was often for monetary gain. These days, brides are free to give that honor to mothers, sisters, brothers or friends; even their children! No longer is a daughter given away to advance a family’s social standing! Even the rule of who pays for the wedding has changed. Another tradition that’s changed is the throwing of rice. Many still choose rice (and by the way this doesn’t hurt birds as some believe) but will choose bird seed, confetti, wheat or even corn. All these elements symbolize a hope for prosperity and happiness for the wedding couple.

Expressing individuality has never been more accepted than it is today. The beauty of this is all the choices brides of yesteryear could never have even dreamed of. No more persnickety tongue clicks because the bride dared to deviate from tradition! How many women, madly in love, had to give up their hearts’ desires for their perfect wedding day because of ridiculous rules? So what is wrong with a bride’s desire to prepare herself and her man for the coveted wedding night? Perhaps a red wedding dress is her preferred choice for attracting the sole attention she deserves on her special day!

A wedding day is for expressing passion and love. The color red has long been associated with both. This intense color has meaning that extends to power (as in power of love) longing, desire and vigor. A red wedding dress is a wonderful way to express the pure excitement generated by all these awesome characteristics. There’s nothing like creating a visual memory the groom will never forget. Men are about visual stimulation and a wedding dress that stays in his mind for the rest of his life will have more impact when the color of love is dominate! Talk about creating an even more intense attraction with red being used in stark contrast to a bride’s soft, creamy skin!

Every bride dreams of that dramatic entrance as she makes her way to her intoxicating man waiting at the altar just for her. She wants to incite desire and intrigue in him. She wants to blow his mind! Appearing in a wedding dress that will elicit fascination and intense yearning is a statement that was once taboo. Times have changed and so has the choices available to brides in terms of expression. Now if she wants to wear a red wedding dress, it’s perfectly acceptable! Over time, the wedding dress has evolved from white to accents of color, such as wedding jewelry, to a rainbow of color choices. Talk about bringing wedding planning to a whole new level of excitement!

Contrary to popular belief, not every bride from days gone by actually wore straight white. Even the frontier brides wore wedding dresses with color! After all, given the circumstances, it was far more practical to make a few alterations to the wedding dress (once the wedding was over)so that it could be worn daily. Well, as we all know, white couldn’t have possibly been a practical color while literally working to survive a life like that! This is further proof that traditions weren’t always in the best interest of the bride to be. Now there are choices that aren’t forced due to life circumstance, making for an exciting time like none our ancestors knew.

Purity bride idea?

Then there’s the idea of purity behind the custom of a white wedding dress. White is also a color that represents joyous celebration and happiness, yet a colorful wedding dress can speak these characteristics so much louder and with tremendous impact that lasts. Later, when the wedding day is over and images of that special day adorn the walls of the couple’s new home, color will stand out with far more appeal than the black and white wedding photos of yesteryear. There’s nothing wrong with a white wedding dress, but for today’s woman, having choices means a freedom in expression that was long withheld.

These days many women are marrying for a second time. This is obviously not in keeping with the purity ideal of a white wedding dress; especially when her children are actually a part of the weeding party! This is an awesome opportunity for getting bold with any color a bride wants to wear. Even a red wedding dress is an exquisite focal point for creating a colorful wedding that the guests will remember. The groom will be absolutely taken with his bride as she makes her way to him wearing the color of intense passion and desire with love as the most powerful ingredient.
