My name is Lindsey, and I married my fantastic man, Grant, in a very small, quiet and special ceremony at the beautiful Cottesloe Beach, Perth, Australia on 31Dec08. Having both done the big wedding in the past, we decided to do something a bit different, personal and special that would mean more to us. Thus we boarded the Plane in Glasgow on 28th Dec and flew ‘down under’ for a wonderful 2 weeks. We hadn’t told anyone other than our parents and some very trustworthy close friends.
The day was beautiful, blue sky and sunshine; a far cry from the -15deg we’d left behind! We married at 6pm, just before the sun set over the Indian Ocean.
I hadn’t wanted to do the big wedding, and equally didn’t want to do a white dress! Red was the perfect choice. It was complimented very well by the boys in their kilts!
Destination weddings might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it was exactly all that we hoped for and more, and the dress went a long way towards that.
