Red is somehow not that common for wedding dresses, at least in the Western world. Although it is also not so uncommon than you can’t find one. Indeed many boutiques already have some models of red wedding dresses to choose from.

Red is a hot color, no doubt. This color implies passion, love, and luck. Presently, many brides feels this way. Contemporary woman tend to wear how they feel like. And their wedding is not an exception to this rule. It is only another chance to demonstrate their feelings. White is traditionally the color of purity and innocence, but most people aren’t expecting that a bride demonstrates her purity or even that she is indeed pure. Weddings are nowadays a symbol of commitment, like it has been before, but there is nothing against passion in this commitment.
If you as bride already chose to wear a red wedding dress, consider that you will have also to match the decoration or the church or of the venue where the ceremony takes place. Wearing a modern dress in a conventionally decorated church is, simply said, of bad taste. Everything has to match. Red dresses will somehow reduce the choice of places where you can marry, no doubt. However, brides that go for a red dress, really want it and will avoid conservative places from the beginning. This is not a loss for them.
Color that can match well with red are aqua, pink and other reddish tones. Avoid putting too much red in everything. A bouquet of red roses with aqua flowers is perfect. Remember that also the cake and invitation should have a rather reddish tone.

Follow up:
After deciding to wear a red dress, you have to ask yourself what your bridegroom will wear. Red suits are clearly out of fashion, even for the most modern men. A white tuxedo instead with a hint of red like a red rose will be just perfect. The flower can also be aqua or pink. In any case it should match the colors of the bride. The most important point is not to load it too much of red. Everything red is boring. Think about setting accents of red, white, aqua or your favorite color.
Perhaps you don’t know, but many, many boutiques are starting to have red wedding dresses in stock. They may soon not be that uncommon and you will have plenty of choices.
