A Wedding In Red

This year, there has been a stunning buzz surrounding fabulous red wedding dresses, these dresses have been seen across the nation and are gaining popularity with a quickness. Bride’s like the newlywed Laryn Sandahl and her husband Andrew Sandahl are falling in love all over again with this romantic choice. As you can see from their wedding photos these two are quite the couple and this bride rocked her wedding in red during September of 2008. So many are asking, what prompted this couple to choose wed for a wedding dress as oppose to the traditional white and cream dresses, and how did the couples family feel about their bold decision?

“I wanted the wedding to be traditional, but I wanted the dress to stand out and represent my personality,” Laryn said when asked by our interviewers what led her to this bold color choice. Laryn went on to explain her choice as a way to wow the crowd when she told RedHotBrides.com “When I walked down the aisle, I wanted everyone to drop their jaws.” And that is precisely what Laryn did with her gorgeous red wedding dress that matched her outdoor wedding perfectly. When we asked Laryn’s mother about what she thought about the color choice her daughter was looking into Rachelle Harris explained to RedHotBrides.com her initial skepticism that quite quickly turned into a love of the dress herself.

More on the traditional spectrum, Rachelle explained, “When my daughter first mentioned the idea of a red dress, I thought that I needed to tread very carefully.  Laryn is always coming up with creative ideas so this did not really surprise me, but I didn’t want this to be something she would regret.” However after Rachelle did her own bit of research she realized how stunning the red dress could be on her daughter.

“I then went online to several websites and found beautiful red wedding dresses.  It was then that I could see her wearing red and I loved the idea."  Rachelle told us. Apparently red dresses are not as frightening as people have led us to believe in the past, this is why Laryn’s mother and fiancé at the time completely supported their beloved Laryn’s decision, and this decision was not regretted after seeing how stunning Laryn looked.

Yet again, the nation is proven that we don’t need to fit into a traditional mold to have a beautiful wedding. Imagine how beautiful the weddings everywhere could be if more people took Laryn’s bold approach to wedding planning. Many people are also curious, was this dress more expensive than a traditional white dress? With Laryn’s dress only costing roughly $675.00, I think that it is safe to say these dresses can be found as cheap as original white dresses if you look in the right places.

As Laryn’s experienced has shown, bold is not always bad as the bride received comments from her guests including “It’s stunning Laryn” and “This dress is so you!” and with a dress like that, who could argue?!

I don't see a lot of red wedding gowns but I think this one is stunning. No wonder a lot of brides are choosing this striking color. I was just thinking, if the bridal gown is red, then there aren't a lot of color choices for the entourage's gowns since there are only a few colors that complement red.

Is it a taboo to wear a red wedding dress? If not, why are so few wearing them. Is it against a religion? Is there a negative stigma attached to it. Red is associated to love and romance isn't it?
