Getting married in your Sunday's best dress

by Jessica Lang

Be a queen at your own wedding

You would rarely see a woman in a white dress in the 1800s period. This includes wedding and many occasions. Women have not always been marrying in white. In fact relatively, this tradition is not that old at all.

Even up to World War II, many women in the western world continued to wear their best sunday dress as the bridal gown. In early Celtic cultures, red was the bridal color. Red is still the color of choice in many cultures today.

Fairy tale wedding do come true

Red have always been the color of choice for royalty.

There is nothing wrong with aged old tradition of wearing your Sunday’s best dress as your bridal gown. Not every wedding need to be grand and elaborate. Remember what a wedding is about, true love and the joining of two people.

Is it a taboo to wear a red wedding dress? If not, why are so few wearing them. Is it against a religion? Is there a negative stigma attached to it. Red is associated to love and romance isn't it?
