Aussie Bride Goes All Red At Her Wedding

Natalie and Nick’s glorious wedding

Are you an Aussie bride wanting a beautiful wedding dress? Take a cue from this lovely couple. I like to feature today’s story on Natalie Perkins and her husband Nick. They recently got married and she did it in her style. I asked her why did she choose a red wedding dress over a white one?

Natalie replied, “When I was about 6 years old I was given a cassette tape of Cyndi Lauper’s. On the cover of the “She’s so Unusual” album, Cyndi wore a red dress. From that day onward I told mum that I was going to wear a red wedding dress! I wear a lot of red normally too, it’s a bright, bold and happy colour that a lot of people associate with me.”

“She’s So Unusual” - Cyndi Lauper in a red dress on her album cover.

Natalie is a plus sized bride from Australia wants to show other plus sized Aussie brides that red is totally workable. She had not only gone the route of doing it in red but making her custom design. Her red wedding gown was designed from her imagination and created by a Brisbane seamstress, Gloria Gomez.

Natalie had admit she never seen a real life bride in red – only in pictures! That was enough to convert her over to the beautiful lucky red color.

Natalie and Nick have had their fairytale wedding. For all the future brides, find your man in shining armor and have your beautiful dream wedding. Stick with your dreams and ideas of a perfect wedding and go for it.

Is it a taboo to wear a red wedding dress? If not, why are so few wearing them. Is it against a religion? Is there a negative stigma attached to it. Red is associated to love and romance isn't it?
