Have you asked if that dress you love so much comes in other colors? Chances are it may!

Recalling the tales of King Arthur and his beautiful Queen, Guinevere, our thoughts wander to times of bravery, chivalry, romance, intrigue and forbidden love. These dresses shown look to be something reserved for royalty to wear. In today’s time, a bride can be the princess they have dreamed about being since little. The wedding day is referred to as the bride’s day and she is allowed to get everything go her way, from the flora to the colours in the decor that differ in shade from pure white to wheat white to ivory white. In today’s modern time many brides even design their own dresses. Some brides have some idea of what they want and work in conjunction with a dressmaker to bring that vision to life.
White is truly no longer the reigning queen of modern bridal design. People today are more colorful-bold than ever before. A red wedding dress or accents of red (or any other color) is gaining popularity very rapidly. Colorful accents is the current “norm” right now and wearing a completely off white wedding dress is considered trendy or too exotic for many of the traditionalists. Though I am not sure that a ~200 year old tradition should be considered “traditional". Before Victorian fashion era and going back further, medieval brides of an elevated social standing wore rich colors and expensive fabrics. It was common to see well-to-do brides wearing boldly colored layers of furs, velvet and silk. Those of a lower social standing wore fabrics that weren’t as rich, though they copied the elegant styles of wealthier brides as best they could.
The wedding dresses that you try on can be of any color. White is the most common color of wedding dresses but there is no reason that you have to stick with it. If you want a bright red wedding dress then you should have it–that is your right as a bride. While red wedding dress or colorful ones are not readily available in many wedding boutiques, there is a good chance the wedding dress designer will have the dress style that you like in other color choices.
