Have you thought about your red evening gown?

Whether you have decided or not to wear a red wedding gown, serious consideration should be put towards wearing a red evening gown. If your wedding will be in the evening, red is a terrific color to be sporting as a hot evening gown on your special wedding day. Red goes very well at night in the dim lighting at your party. There is a large variety of red evening gowns to choose from and this search will not be as frustrating as searching for your perfect red wedding dress.

I found an absolutely gorgeous evening gown dress by Junko Yoshioka in her Bonaparte-NY line of gowns while perusing the web for evening gowns. There were no description other then it is being called a “Diane Red Dress” from the 2007 Evening Gowns section. The dress hugs to the body very well and the top trim is done with great details. I also love the matching red shoe.

From reading Junko Yoshioka’s biography at as quoted, “Every dress she designs reflects her belief in the harmony between form and function, and her lifelong dedication to the art of couture fashion” and “Meticulous attention to detail, the finest fabrics, flawless constructions and impeccable craftsmanship are hallmarks of her remarkable line.”

Though Junko does not carry any red wedding dresses in her lineup, I still give her my nod of approval for being a terrific designer. Claire Forlani from the show CSI: NY certainly gave her a strong nod of approval by choosing to wear Junko Yoshioka’s wedding gown on her wedding in Pievebovigliana, Italy on June 8,2007.

Here are two other red dresses that I love.

Nicole Miller
Velvet-Trim Silk Gown
Red with burgundy crushed velvet trim.
• Shoulder straps; deep V neckline.
• Flared, softly pleated skirt.
• 100% silk. Velvet trim, 63% acetate, 37% rayon.
• Made in USA. USD $129

Lazaro Style LZ3773
Sienna satin trumpet line tea length dress, gathered bodice, gathered bodice accented with espresso velvet trim at empire, bubble skirt.

A lot of designers are making colorful gowns these days. Red wedding gowns are very popular in Japan as well as Europe. Take a look at the Nicole Miller line at Neiman Marcus, the Tadashi Shoji Spring 2008 collection, David’s Bridal, Lazaro, or Aria’s College (http://www.ariadress.com/) for some ideas. Though most evening gowns much quicker turn around to obtain, give yourself plenty of time to properly order it and a fitting session.

Is it a taboo to wear a red wedding dress? If not, why are so few wearing them. Is it against a religion? Is there a negative stigma attached to it. Red is associated to love and romance isn't it?
